Brzeće, January 24, 2021 In the late afternoon of January 22, 2021, the rescuers of the Mountain Rescue Service of Serbia received a call from a snowboarder who got lost on Kopaonik. They alerted the police on Kopaonik and the police service of the Ski Resort of Serbia and set off in search. At the same time, the police in Brus were informed, which alerted the Bruce Fire and Rescue Unit and the Bruce Red Cross Rescue Service, which also went in search, and some locals from the village of Brzeće joined them. After a 9-hour search, the boa0rder was found near the Jelovarnik waterfall, unharmed.
“At the call of the Brus Police Station, the Red Cross Brus was engaged in the search for the lost skier. The call was sent at 19:00, and our team went to the field in Brzeće with four rescuers at 20:00. After a two-hour search operation, and all in cooperation with the Mountain Rescue Service of Serbia, the Fire and Rescue Unit Brus, the service of the Ski Resorts of Serbia, the Police Station Brus and the residents of Brzeće, the person was found unharmed and safely transported to Kopaonik. ” – said Saša Tomić, secretary of the Red Cross Brus, who participated in the search.
